Nurse clinical workflows

June 8, 2026 · clinical, assessments, care plans, emar, compliance

MeridiaCare AI supports nurses and clinical leaders with dashboards, structured assessments, and compliance tooling — all scoped to your campus and assigned residents.

Your home screen

Registered nurses typically land on Dashboard (`/dashboard`) with:

  • Overdue and due-soon assessments
  • Care plan review queue
  • MAR exceptions and pharmacy alerts
  • Census and acuity snapshots

Licensed practical nurses may share the same dashboard or Today depending on campus configuration.

Assessments

Navigate to Clinical → Assessments to:

  • Start admission and periodic assessments
  • Complete state-required evaluation forms
  • Track due dates across your assigned census

Assessment completion drives care plan updates and regulatory reporting.

Care plans

Clinical → Care plans links assessment findings to interventions:

  1. Review auto-suggested care plan items from the latest assessment
  2. Customize interventions, frequencies, and responsible disciplines
  3. Publish the plan so caregivers see updated tasks on Today

Care plan changes create audit history for survey readiness.

Clinical review

Clinical review surfaces documentation gaps before they become compliance issues:

  • Unsigned notes
  • Missing ADL entries
  • eMAR variances (late passes, refusals without follow-up)
  • Expiring orders

Work the review queue daily — especially before state survey windows.

Medication oversight

Nurses have expanded eMAR permissions compared to caregivers:

  • Order verification and hold/release
  • PRN effectiveness follow-up
  • Pharmacy order reconciliation

Use Medications → Orders to review new and changed orders from the pharmacy interface.

Incidents and notifications

Document falls, injuries, and sentinel events under Clinical → Incidents. MeridiaCare prompts for required follow-up fields based on incident type.

Configure notification rules so charge nurses and administrators receive alerts for high-severity events.

Reports for clinical staff

Common reports from the report catalog:

  • Assessment due lists
  • Care plan review status
  • MAR error summaries
  • Incident logs by date range

Filter by community or unit to focus on your assignment.
